I have an SDR-1000 and have dealt with this issue since day one. All of the
suggestions given here should work fine. Unlike other radios that come EQ'd for
communications type audio, the Flex does not. The EQ in the Flex is absolutely
necessary and adds the flexibility to tailor it to your part

If you know the EMU 1212 card will not share an IRQ with your firewire, then
that is a step in the right direction. Increased DPC's are also seen due to
improperly or inefficiently written drivers as well. The best way to tell
if you will see any increase in DPC's, given that your EMU card
Tim's suggestion to use the EQ is good. I boost the 2K setting. You can also
cut the lows by adjusting your transmit bandwidth setting. Try 150 Hz to 2900
Hz bandwidth and boost the 2K setting in the EQ as needed for good general
purpose audio. Add +3 on the Compander for a little punch. Don't

i am using now the Edirol speaker they are as well very very good
but they cost more then the Behringer the one i have is the 15 w so 40w will
be fantastic good rich sound .many thanks for this info .

If i put my emu 1212 m sound card back in, to play with my softrocktransceiver,
and it doesnt share IRQ's with my firewire card, will myDPC's go to the devil ??
i could try it, but there are other fish to fry. just curious if it willbe a
waste of time, based on somebody else's experience..

Interesting comments about the Flex's low end. I started using the ProSet Plus
