[Flexradio] 5000A ECHO OR REVERB

2010-02-06 Thread Richard M. Emerson
I have been plagued from day one with intermittent reverberation or echoing on the transmitted signal from my 5000a. Despite hundreds of software adjustment experiments and putting ferrite snap beads both ends of every cable attached to the 5000a I continue to be plagued and embarrassed by this

Richard Just a guess but check the mixer and see what input devices are checked (are you talking about SSB or what mode?). If its phone, make sure only the device you are using is checked! 72 Neal Campbell Abroham Neal Software www.abrohamnealsoftware.com (540) 645 5394 NEW PHONE NUMBER Amateur

Hi Richard, How much power are you running when you have the reverberation? What type of antenna does it occur on? What is your feedline and how do you isolate any RF near your operating position? I have had success with clamping ferrite at the antenna/feedline point and feedline/home point

Richard. Divide and conquer. Connect the F5K to a dummy load and listen to the output on a second receiver. If you have the reverb, then the problem is not in the antenna system. Look for the problem locally. Make sure things are grounded well. Especially the PC, which should have a low im

Quality Audio for SDR radio's. As most everyone knows the quality of computer speakers is not the greatest, and the amplifier's used in these speakers is rather poor with limited power output. I have installed a quality 75 watt per channel stereo amplifier and a set of speakers used as rear audio

Here's another follow-up. Evidence is clear now that my "no power output when transmitter keyed" problem was the result of a lack of computer memory resources. What I haven't figured out is why the same computer setup worked fine for months before the problem appeared. I chalk that up to the basi

Frank, It isn't that PowerSDR isn't getting enough resources, it is that other things are taking away from the resource pool. Windows is a pre-emptive multitasking operating system. Everything equally (more or less) gets a slice of the pie. Memory is not the only resource. It is easy to do

[Flexradio] weird echo/reverb on voice
