Tnx for reply Neil. Yes when I try RATTV3 on Win7-32 the report does not
show the XXX.SYS drivers like it did in WinXP. It only shows a summarry
without naming the drivers.
May be I am missing something? Did you found a way to make it shows the
drivers?

As you may or may not know, the FLEX-5000 V/U module (FLEX-VU5K)

the design specifications once the module was installed in a FLEX-5000
chassis during prototype testing. That re-engineering has been

I guess it's doing okay for me, then.

Actually, CW is probably the most taxing mode for a SDR due to the possible
number of RX/TX/RX transitions.

I have a Toshiba Satellite 105 that has Intel a dual core T2300 processor. It
has a TI firewire chip and runs fine. I don't know if it has enough processing
power or not, since I only do CW. And slow, at that.

Thanks, Tim.
Just too many choices there!
I now have the right one ordered, and will post an update when I get to
check it out.

I read this particular reflector with some interest. It is very
active and some of the comments are quite useful. However, there is a
lot of air-time spent on DPC's, lock-ups, etc. One should realize
That is good, because there are other more important things in life to worry

Win7 is still very new. The drivers are not mature, and I suspect that is what
you are seeing is an affect of one of the drivers doing something a bit
different after it has been running for a while. What,

Tim, Not really worried about it, but was just wondering, why sometimes it
will start up and run with 8 to 12us for days on end, and then other times when
I start it, it's running between 90 and 120us, with no changes to the system at
all.

I heard the same thing about RS-232 serial ports about 14 years ago when USB
came out :-)

I doubt that it is DPCLAT that has the problem.
The answer is that it is a driver loaded on Win7 causing the VERY SLIGHT RISE
IN DPCs, but really it is a moot point. So, Win7 has a little longer duration
baseline DPC values than Vista - they use different drivers. That is the
difference. You

I always see this level of DPCs when using DPCLat under win7, never less
than 90us. I don't think its incorrect but it doesn't cause any problems. I
think Win7, when tuned, has fewer spikes in DPCs than XP even though the
average DPC is lower in XP. Because XP is getting so expensive, I think Win7
Are those DPC values causing you any problems?

I'm seeing the same thing here with a Win 7 Prof 64 bit install. Under 64
