Colleagues,
As I mentioned in a post about a week or so ago, I recently acquired a
Flex-5000 after using a Flex-3000 for about a half-year. I used a Dell Vostro
computer to drive the Flex-3000 and everything seemed to work fine. When I
received the Flex-5000, I moved the Flex-3000 to another
My son Ryan (W5RSH), 13, sat in the back seat of my rover all weekend and
worked six on the F3K (I'd send a picture but I don't think it'd make it
through the reflector). I don't have the log in front of me, be he worked
something like 90 grids and 175 contacts. This was his second time on 6m
I have a need for a plug play hand microphone for use with the Flex 5000.
I saw mention on one of the lists that the Yaesu MH-31B8 will work without
modification. Is this so? Are there any other ready to go solutions?
I have several Heil mics that work fine, I just want a traditional hand
Mine will be ;-)
It's typical for the conferences to collect the presentations and make them
available online. I will say that the conferences are hard to put on and
are done by volunteers so this is not a guarantee, but most presenters will
give you a copy if the conference doesn't get around
Robert,
This sounds like a feature request but there is a quick way that I QSY
anywhere. I type in the frequency like, 50.11 and Enter on the numeric
keypad and I am there. That is the fastest way to QSY to any frequency the
radio covers.
I copied some of the other guys so they would see the
I will put in a request Gerald. Wasn't sure if it was a bug in my older
version or something that will already be included in 2.0. I did some
searching and didn't find anything about this issue. Can't keep up with
the traffic on this reflector, let alone the flex-edge to see what is up
and
Ed,
It may well be the the Celerons processor giving the timing error.
Most times, unless you have finely tuned the OS, in this case XP, to
a very efficient point, just running all the necessary programs and
then a Real-time device and SW as the Flex and PowerSDR, 50% range is
hard
I concur,
The lack of l2 cache memory very much limits the capability of the PC to
run powersdr, for the sake of maybe $30 - $50 a suitable P4 chip could
be purchased off ebay to replace the hamstrung Celeron processor.
Check the Dell model structure to determine the best processor it used,
Thanks, Steve...when I bought this Celeron-based computer about five years ago,
I did not envision running a real-time application such as PowerSDR on it. A
processor upgrade probably should be my next step if I cannot achieve decent
performance from fine-tuning the buffers and process
Greetings All,
I want to take my Flex-3000 to the mountains for Field Day and I want to have
it talk to the N3FJP Net Log program and maybe the DM780 for digital. I know I
might not be the only one with this request so please pardon if this is a
duplicate request.
