Is there a way to enable receive audio through the PC external speakers without
entering the PSDR Setup Menu and changing the configuration whenever I want to
switch between Digital modes and normal (voice/CW) operating?

If I understand your question...
Have you tried using the MUTE function, (MUT upper left corner) in
digital modes?
As for speakers, I use Bose 'Companion 2' speakers which have two
inputs; and sound great.

You can also connect the powered speakers to the front (headphone)
connector.
That's what I have been doing ever since I got the V/U module installed as
there is a bad solder join on the back connector.
