I have recently acquired a new Flex-3000 radio (running SDR v2.2.3) and have
been giving it a test drive into a dummy load. All seems well except that
the output power reading on the TX meter fluctuates from about 70W to 105W
when transmitting CW dots or dashes at 30 wpm and 100% drive. Is this
Brian,
I believe that that is normal. Without looking into the code to be certain,
I would guess that the meter samples the output at some interval averages
the result. Depending upon how the samples line up with the cw waveform,
the average power during any one sample period will vary.
73,
It is not relevant.
The FLEX-family of SDRs does not use sound cards, as that was the design
of first generation SDRs. The current FLEX SDRs have the ADC/DACs built
in so there is no sound card requirement.

Ray hit the nail on the head. It does have to do with the sampling
cycle frequency and the RF at that point in time.

So, you could go to Setup | Display tab, and change the Multimeter options,
correct? Which option would most effectively show the almost real time power-
decrease Multimeter Average Time, or increase one of the related Refresh rates,
or decrease one of hte Peak Hold times? Jim KJ2P Date:
You can try lowering those time values and see what happens.

Tim,
Can the sound card be used in the SDR 1000 system?

If your mic levels are wrongly set, you will hear it.
Otherwise, you will hear it if you have convinced yourself that it is there.

This macro sets the high cutoff frequency for the transmitter. The macro
works fine on my F-5000, but not on the F-1500. Can anyone test this
for me on a F-1500. The manual says it should P1 = 00500 to 2.
Is this a bug related to the F1500?

John,
I have found that the Flex CAT documentation is not all that
accurate. Some commands don't work as documented or return unexpected
results.
According to the ZZTH command as documented in
CAT_Command_Dictionary.pdf, sets or reads the TX Filter High setting

I see a difference for sure. If send a signal to rx1 and have receiver 2 set
to rx1 tap and calibrate spectrum lab with the peak from receiver 1 then
receiver 2 is not on freq and vice versa. I presume they have the same dds
chip. Maybe they don't. I need to get a power combiner and send
I would like use a Pixel RX only loop that has a preamp in it a s a RX only
antenna in RX1. Is there a way that I could this be assured that I would not TX
into it and blow up the preamp?

Plug it into the RX1 input and then
It does work if I put the loop on Receiver 1 and pick RX1 IN but if I have an
antenna on ANT1 I get no signal at all when I pick ANT1 in Receiver 2 which is
very weird. - Original Message -

Make sure you have both RX1 and RX2 setup the same way. I have found if one has
the SR turned on and the other does not, then the two RX's will not always be
in phase. You can clearly hear the phase mismatch in the speakers. And whether
the mismatch is readily noticeable or not seems to depend
Both setup the same way.. if=0 sr = off... i even tried with ext ref off
and get the same behavior
