Michael I have owned all the previous flex radios and now own the 6500. Great radio but still in the building mode. I ran my flex 5000 and 3000 remote for several years and the thought of working off the World Wide Web on a 6000 is what really got my attention. Now for the bad news. At this

Thanks Dale I fully suspect that could be the case. The video would be over remote desktop, so that will also be a challenge. I 'hope' I can dial down the frame rate for remote operation. I currently use a TS480 and RemoteRig, but I really want to get the Flex at the remote site. I agree.

[Flexradio] Smart SDR s/w?

So, now that the new 6300 model is out it's got my attention. The hardware specs look great but what about the software? Is Smart SDR ready for prime time? Does it have all the features of the latest version PowerSDR software I'm using now with my FLEX3000? Are upgrades free or is there some kind

David, the subject of annual charge for the software for the 6xxx series radios crossed my mind too. While an annual fee to make the high-end radio work might not be a deal breaker for those who buy the top of the line FLEX radio, I can see a possible challenge for/from those who buy the the

I'm interested and concerned about the ability to run the 6000 series remotely. For reasons I won't bore you with, lack of a really good remote power on/off capability -- such as Elecraft unquestionably has for 6300 scale money -- may be a deal breaker for this long time Flex owner as far as the

Hi Larry Good points. I have been remoting since 2006 and my solution with a TS480 and a RemoteRig is flawless. I have to go 6 months at a time without touching my radios/computer. I just sold my 3000, so it looks like I will jump on a 6300. My goal will be to have it running remotely by

I was going to mention this but what about remote OFF? I suppose you could use one of the web based power controls (WestMountain has one) and disconnect the power but that's not a good way of shutting down. Eric - Is there a way to add a shutdown command button to the main tab on the settings

Tom, Of course the FLEX-6300 only goes up to 54MHz so I assume you are talking about using 28-144, 28-432 transverters. Generally you would use a exciter port and a RX only port for this type of thing. The exciter port would go to the transmit band and then the RX port would go to the receive

The RCA input handles shutdown. If the Remote On feature is enabled, grounding the RCA powers up the radio. When the RCA is not grounded, the radio will shutdown. When the feature is turned off, the RCA state does not interfere with normal operation of the radio. Eric Wachsmann FlexRadio
