Thanks for all the tips.
I nibbled out the front of the cabinet where the fan seats and it reduced
the fan noise considerably.
Still not where I would like it, but much better and liveable.
Much appreciated.

Try contacting the Chroma Pix folks - they sent me a program a few
years back that lets me point ChromaPix to a specific sound card -
think it's called spconf.exe

I would really like to use that program, but will settle on an good program
that works with the radio.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

I have the SDR-1000 and use a small linear with it.
Does anyone know of a way to have the SDR software reduce the power to say
35 watts when the X2TR button is depressed which engages the linear?
I am trying to avoid an accidental overdriving as I usually run barefoot
and sometime wish to switch
I too have the Audio Punch problem.
I tried to roll back to 1836 and ran into a lot of error messages.
For now, I have settled for the official download 10.1.3 which fixed the
audio problem.
FYI only

Since I installed the later SVNs (now at 1853), my power out on SSB peaks
around 25watts, instead of what I am used to which is 50 watts.
I measure the output using an SWR/PWR meter in a Yaesu FC-902 tuner set to
straight thru.
I reverted to the BETA 1.9.1 version and it puts out 50watts.
I am using SVN 1756 and the MUT is not working.
It clicks, but stays the same colour and does not mute the radio.
Anyone else having that problem?
Is there a fix?

I cannot get my SDR-1000 to transmit on digital.
It receives, the rig will key up, and a signal is showing on Hamscope, but
there is no drive to the radio nor RF out.
My setup is:
Edirol, VAC, NV8Com, TRX Manager as logging program that Hamscope uses to
key the rig.
I have tried the same thing
DUH...you have to turn up the TX gain on the Digital Specific controls on
the front control panel.
I tested the unit again with a lower reading watt meter and found a small
amount of RF going out.
Then I boosted the TX gain control and voila have output.
Band conditions are so bad at the moment,
I tried MixW and while I can get it to work, prefer some of the other
programs.
Please let me know what other digital mode and SSTV software any of you have
had success with using the SDR-1000
Thanks in advance.

Has anyone had a successful experience at getting the SDR to work with
Hamscope.
I can get the receive to work, but not the transmit.

The SDR-1000 is a fantastic radio on receive but I am having some issues
with transmitting.
The transmit audio just doesn't have any punch and the output power seems
to be about half compared to my Yaesu FT1000MP.
My watt meter peaks about 25 watts vs 1000MP which peaks about 50 watts on
Sometimes when I use the SDR-1000, the audio cuts out and then back on,
pulsing like that about once or twice per second.
I found a solution, which is to turn off PowerSDR and Turn off my Edirol
FA-66, then restart both.
It's not a big deal and doesn't do it often, but I was wondering if this is
to see if it happens again.
Thanks again for the tremendous support.
