I have read a lot about the SDR-1000 fan noise, and must admit I find it a little loud for me.
I would simply move the unit, but the cables aren't long enough..so, I am looking for a solution. My research turned up a couple of solutions nibbling out the metal behind the fan grill (does it really work?) and this solution http://homepage.ntlworld.com/m.rabel/SDR%20Fan%20noise.html wondering also if this one is safe? My guess is this has been discussed before, but any suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated.
