I have been using EasyPal with SDR-1000 and now my Flex-3000 for quite a
while. It does take more compute power than other digital modes used with
PowerSDR, but seems to work just fine.

Since there are those cables between the computer, that also introduces

Here's a poser for this group. I often use my Flex-3000 for digital

I have been extremely frustrated trying to get EasyPal to work with the

Considering this and other remarks, I thought I'd try Pactor again using

difference to a SCS Pactor modem. There's still too much T-R latency to

Thanks, Ken. Actually, I found that I had the equalizer on. The transmit filter is 150-3000, so its OK. Turningtheequalizeroff made it behave better. I probably used different PSK offset frequencies in the different bands resulting in the variation. Also, I note that CPDR really has to be

I'm one of those who have spoken up about this. I'm certain that a high bandwidth scope view of things shows the same peaks for SSB and for CW. One issue is the way in which the RF speech power is measured by the different devices, scopes, wattmeters, etc. Some measurement
(I included the email list this time in case there are others who are interested.)
I'm not so sure I agree. There is one matter I still don't understand. With a narrow bandwidth signal like PSK, the external peak-reading wattmeter gives the power output as equal to the SDR PWR setting when
I agree that your meter is more accurate, but I still have a question about what it's measuring. The definition of what is a peak in speech signals (baseband or modulated) is ill-defined. There are as many techniques as there are speech applications, of which SSB is one. The clicks and stops

I too am experiencing this issue with 1.3.4. I have to drive ALC to -9 dB or so to get proper transmitter output, at 0 dB, the output is very weak (around 1/4 or less of the set PWR wattage) when using PSK (not the case with version 1.2).

When in SSB transmit and no audio is applied, the panadapter shows a display in the passband well above noise. But, in addition, it isn't flat across the top. It peaks at the low end and falls off approximately 25 dB as you move across to the high end of the passband. Why is this? Does it

It sounds like you don't have the problem I have. I have played with the MIC-GAIN setting and with the console MIC setting, both. The problem is that the ALC kicks in and starts limiting when the output PEP is about 1/4 the setting level, under either TUN or transmit. I am trying to
Ken:
Is this a problem you eventually worked out, or did you "resolve" it by getting a different sound card?
I found Bass-Treble controls in the mixer and put them both center position so that now the low power is uniform across the passband. After re-calibrating the power amplifier,
