Pablo, EA4TX, sells an excellent interface that you can connect to virtually
any rotor, commercial or homebrew. The problem is that it interfaces via
parallel port. He has come up with a new USB interfaced controller but doesn't
show it on his product page but it appears to be for sale.

I run a couple 26 ASUS VK266H monitors for a couple years now along
with 3 older samsung 17 and 19 inch monitors
and absolutely no noise. I use HF and satellites with the radios just
inches from the monitors with a maze of interconnecting cables.

exactly
how he does it.

I had the same problem with the TX relays since I was following the
instructions to start PowerSDR first and then DDUtil. I now start DDutil
first and problem is solved. I see no negative effects from this. First
DDUtil -PowerSDR-DXLab Suite and then LP-Steplink for my SteppIR control.

Just my 2 cents but that is a voltage check under load or keydown.
I spent many hours on a IC-745 years ago with cold solder joints in the fuse
connections.
The voltage read the same until there was a heavy current draw across the
fuse.

I use a couple ASUS VK266H monitors in DVI mode and they are fantastic.
Bought them at NewEgg. Shack pic is on Eham or QRZ

Hi Ron,
I use this switch. Bought it a few years ago but appears they are still
available. Really well built. I use one switch for my Flex 5k and the
other side goes to my W2IHY Iplus switchbox for 3 other rigs.
Has 1/4 inch plugs so they go right into the Heil cable or will have to get
It works fine with just PowerSDR but how can you get it to work with
DDUTIL--I have tried numerous ports, pass listen that I use with my SteppIR
and Expert Amp but no luck.

Great point Mike.
Many people have had RF problems with the Flex that they didn't have with

A few chokes and a new firewire cable solved mine and the radio and speakers

If Flex-Radio thought it necessary to provide additional fuses wouldn't they
have provided in-line fuses in the supplied cable instead of telling you to
put ring connectors on the leads and hook them directly to the power supply
or at least tell you what value fuse to put in line.

A lot of remarks have been made about the supplied firewire cable and
problems. All said at least it is now documented that a number of people
have found that this was the weak link in solving problems. My 5000A sits
on a shelf about an inch above an Expert 1K-FA amplifier. The computer is

The program works great. Put PowerSDR/5000A into DRM mode and decodes much
better than SAM.

works with DDutil and all the externals.

I won't get my Flex 5K until Monday but have been using PowerSDR-IF and
LPBridge with LPPan on my K3. On
my Q6600 dual quad with 4g of Ram I normally run 8 or 9 percent CPU usage.
I downloaded Pretty Betty in Demo mode and am running 25 percent.
