Double Da!! There is way too much attention paid to S meters. I'm glad that ours is accurate (or, more properly, can be made so), but unless you're trying to do a serious scientific experiment in propagation, which requires calibrated S meters _on both ends_ just for starters, it doesn't mean

I don't think what is measured with the S meter in the SDR-1000 is the same as what is measured in most radios. The S meter in the SDR actually reads an absolute signal strength in dBm calibrated to what ever signal source you use for calibration. The scale is accurate and within 0.1 dB accuracy
