Have you gone back to the previous firmware to see if you still have the
issues? There's no problem with dropping back from version 0.1.1.2 to
version 0.1.1.1 to see if that changes anything.
As to Gerald's response, that was my error; I got it mixed up with
something else. In any case,
I didn't see a comment from Gerald, so he may have sent his message only
to you and not to the list (I hate lists where the default is to reply
to the sender rather than to the list).

I agree with Gerald's comment, that it sounds like a firewire-related
issue. The double set of dings sounds a little suspicious, although I
have on occasion heard that same thing myself but don't experience any
tuning issues, so I can't say whether it has any relevance or not.

Which method were you using to change frequency, and how fast were you
changing frequency when this happened? Were you dragging the mouse on
the panadapter display, or tuning via the mouse wheel, or via the
keyboard arrows, or via the Shuttle Pro? What were your tuning steps set to?
