Firewire is becoming more and more difficult to find in both PCs and in
laptops.
I have hopes of being able to run a Flex 5000 with a Sony VAIO with a 2.0 /
2.9 GHz i7 Quad Core processor.
Unfortunately USB 3.0 appears to have displaced Firewire 400 800 in the
VAIO that I like for other reasons

fine with the 1500, but is not accceptable for the 3000 or 5000, the greater

I'm in the pro audio business, and there are very, very few USB interfaces in
the pro world. The best ones (and Metric Halo in many people's opinion is the
top of the line) are generally fire wire only. MOTU does have some interfaces
with USB 2 interfaces, but they also include firewire. USB

Firewire vs. USB and how USB would be a better choice, probably as a result
of the greater prevalence of USB. After all, with USB 2.0 having speeds
comparable to IEEE 1394a (400Mbps Firewire) and USB 3.0 being much faster,

Fiber optics is the way to go if your talking about changing things then
change it to something that makes since, after all Wire of any kind make a
good receiver antenna which is what the problems are in
