Craig, I am experiencing the same issue. It is a MS update that is causing
the 5K to freeze. I have not found a solution either at this point except
maybe rebuilding my PC which is a real PIA. Good luck on your end.

Hi Mike,
I went away for a year and over that time changes have been made to the
computer (Windows updates etc) and when I came home, PowerSDR now freezes
randomly. I can try upgrading the video card driver.
I have been looking at event viewer but I don't really know where to look

Well maybe $35.00 to lose but I think it's worth a try :-) My factory
cable worked fine for the first month, then it became intermittent and
finally quit all together. I bought a Gigabit cable from Radio Shack

Hi Steve,
Well a Fire Wire cable is relatively cheap, so I will purchase a new high

inside your radio box all that verifies is that the wire carrying power
is connected and working, it doesn't verify communication.

Thanks for the replies, still having no luck finding a solution.
NOTE:- cable and fire wire card is tested OK.
I managed to delete my early restore points.
Freezes in RX mode, no stray RF issues.
DAVE:- I ran a program called Memtest and all tests passed 100%
