I have read all in the thread, my one addition is that I noticed that you

But it sounds like there's a serio

Thanks for the suggestion Ray. I tried both larger (up to 300) and
smaller (down to 20) values, and the problem persists, including the
way it gets worse over time.

Go to the Setup|Audio|VAC form, check "Manual Latency", & try adjusting the
value. This cured a similar problem that I had with my VoiceKeyer program.

Hi,
I originally posted a version of this to N1MM's reflector, but further
troubleshooting points to PowerSDR so I'll continue my quest here.

Windows 7 64bit
N1MM Logger V11.6.4
FlexRadio Flex-3000 with PowerSDR 2.0.22
Playback occurs over Virtual Audio Cables (VAC) 4.10.0.2537

Tim,
Thank you for the plug. One small correction, however -- my software is not
shareware, it is donationware. What you download is fully functional &
updateable forever. I do not restrict features or withhold support in order
to force payment. Any donations received are strictly voluntary.
Dieter,
Why not use the voice keyer in N1MM? That's what I use. It also works with
N3FJP and perhaps others. I wrote a KB article on setting up N1MM. Search
the KB.

Dieter,
What OS are you running?
I wrote a VoiceKeyer program a couple of years ago that interfaces to
PowerSDR using VAC. It is free to download and use (from my website -- URL
below). The only problem is that I cannot support it under Windows 7. It
works fine with XP or Vista, but I have had

Tim, W4TME, has found a couple of minor issues with the VoiceKeyer program
which I will address after I get back from Field Day next week.
However, one bug can be particularly nasty to recover from. You would have
to hack the registry to get rid of an erroneous setup value.

Ray,
You are exactly right, I was typing inputs and thinking of
outputs.. But still a simple mixer or run the mic through the sound
card will still work. I used an external mixer to mix CQ-100 output
into the radios now, along with a CW IDer from Romac..

Page 36 of the Flex-5000 Operating Manual says that you can select only 1
input channel at a time. That is you can select either "Mic" or "Line In

Bill,
I also want to avoid one more hardware box. But, with VAC & vCOM, we have
all of the facilities we need for a stand-alone voice keyer program, IF
PowerSDR can be modified to allow simultaneous use of both VAC & the

I would like to call CQ from a prerecorded message. It could be programmed
to key and call once or as many times as it takes to get a response. This
would be a nice feature for contesting as well. Thanks
