The wide split issue comes into play most often on 40 meters SSB. When Vlad was on his Grand Tour of all those African sites a while back, he used the 'Wide Split' technique frequently. Vlad operated cw employing the Wide Split profile. W9OL handles this problem by using the 2nd receiver. I us

I am not sure exactly what you are asking, but when working split, VFO-B displays the transmit frequency and it will be red (along with the TX button in the VFO display) indicating that it is the transmitting only VFO. No mater what the width of the split. See pages 60-61 and 78 of the FLEX-3
