Heil has a mod to put an HC-5 mic element in a D-104. I picked one up at
the Fort Wayne Hamfest last week & plan to try it on my 5000a when it
arrives in a week or so.

Yes there certainly are. If you will check with Heil sound, they have a
very nice conversion kit for the D-104. Just remove the salt crystal element
and replace it with the Heil Sound unit, solder a couple of wires and
voila', a D104 that works great with the Flex 5000. I know, that is what
I think I saw an element for the D-104 on the Heil site but I don't remember
for sure.
