I am trying to use Flightgear as a GUI for an air traffic simulator.
I use the CVS head and the multiplayer mode (--multiplay=in,10,,5500)
on
a gnu/linux intel box.
I though the positions were in meters in a geocentric frame.
When i start in the default position KSFO:28L (-122.358,
Is UDP good enough for network gaming? Absolutely. IMO, UDP is the
only thing good enough for online, real time gaming.
To answer a few questions, the --multiplay code uses only UDP. I
believe there is another effort going on that uses TCP and a central
server to provide multiplay

Sorry for coming in late on this, but I can clear a few things up.
Regarding multiplay, even though my lan's 100mb and the lan loading is
pretty
light, the 'other' a/c jump around a lot when I get close them. What
is
the
most likely cause of this?
Yep, this is simply an artifact
I don't know that network-olk ever really worked, so if this new
multiplayer code has any sort of basic functionality we could probably
just remove the olk code. If any one needs it for anything, it will
always be available in past versions.

loading/unloading multiplayer models needs attention. Our unload

burning fuel, they would probably request somewhere from FL350-FL410.
