Long time since this thread was active :PAnyway, thinking back to this project and hoping to do something for FlightGear (taking a look at the current CVS source it all looks a little over my head).Anyway, i'll happily work on this project and host it myself, question is - is this a good idea, and

[Flightgear-devel] Sound Barrier

2006-03-10 Thread Ben Clark
While flying some supersonic aircraft in Flightgear today I noticed there seems to be no support for the various things that happen when approaching the speed of sound.Does anyone have any plans to implement any of this? E.g Sonic Boom and pressure wave, less stability at close to SoS, etc?Seeing

HeyI was wondering if anyone is currently working on implementation of a Traffic Collision Avoidance System. Unfortunately I currently an not competent enough with the FG code so I wouldn't like to try and tackle the programming part of such a system. But i'd easily be able to create some alert sou

This would certainly be useful for people wanting to train up in air traffic control. If multiplayer environments become crowded voice communications would be a perfect way to avoid collision. Maybe it would be a good idea to implement some ATC controls in FG (tracking radar with height, etc), eith

I'd be pretty sure that massive texture files is the problem as there is hardly any drop in frame rate in small, undetailed aircraft (Cessna series, Eurocopter, etc).Only problem with removing pieces from an aircraft model when it's further away is the zoom function - it's not going to look good vi

Hey ThereAlthough i have a fairly moderate spec machine i've noticed that FG frame rate can be extremely low, particually when near the carrier, or when playing multiplayer. Many people have told me this is due to the sever complexity of the models. My question is, does anyone know the most severe

Excellent piece of art - Really shows what FG is capable of, and how it's improved in such a short timespan. :)The only gripe I have is the Black-on-Stripe text (URLs, Email Addresses) makes my eyes go a rather square shape - Maybe fiddling the colour would help? BenbreadOn 02/01/06, Erik Hofman <[
