a couple of weeks ago i was at an astro bed and breakfast east of tucson.
despite the fires and one cloudy night it was among the better stargazing i've

but even there, the nuclear-strength headlights from MILES away on the horizon

yes. i think, as a recently-reborn amateur astronomer, that it's the light
light light at night that has been bringin' me down. this ain't no place for a
guy with a telescope ... tho there are places on the east end of long island
that aren't bad at all. where i live, tho, the skies are typica
yar, i know ... and i wasn't being facetious, by the by, jmb's work feeds me.
had the pleasure of doing a reading with him once in newport, ky (i come from
cincinnati, queen city of the rust belt). i have also appeared a couple of
times in his estimable pub lost & found times ...
