Using FOP 1.0 I am having problems with some fonts
My fopconfig is as follows
renderers
renderer mime=application/pdf
fonts
font
embed-url=file:///myapp/Fonts/FRUTL___.TTF
Hi Guys,
Have recently updated my revision to the latest version of the trunk -
previously I was able to use custom fonts defined within the fop.xconf file
for PCL.
Now I have the same XML snippet for PCL as I do PDF.. such as;
renderer mime=application/vnd.hp-PCL
fonts
Hi,
if I try to use Verdana and not embed it, the resulting PDF cannot be
shown correctly in the Adobe Reader. The Font is identified (in the
Reader) as
Verdana
-Type: TrueType(CID)
-Coding: Identity-H
-Originial-Font: Unknown
I created the fonts-metrics with the Fop-Util-Application and
Currently, you can only reference a TrueType font if you generate the
font metrics in WinAnsi mode (-enc ansi). Obviously, that will restrict
you to a subset of the available glyphs. It's a limitation of FOP.
This is documented here:
http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/fop/0.94/fonts.html#embedding
I tried something the other day and it worked... I removed the tags representing italic and bold..
font metrics-file=C:\projects\fop-0.20.5\fonts\arialuni.xml kerning=yes embed-file=C:\WINNT\Fonts\arialuni.ttf font-triplet name=arialuni style=normal weight=normal/
/font font

I am trying to use FOP to print certain documents (in FO)written in some International Languages (Japaneese, Korean, Chinese etc). For some reason the characters are printed at an angle, it looks likeeverything is initalic. Even the english characters in the document behave in the same
