My old enviroment:
Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2_12-b03)
With no modifications it didn't work with a sun 1.4.2 JVM. With the JVM
JDK1.5.0_08-b03 it works fine. The namespace
I have try the trunk Version of 0.92beta. But still the same problem. I
think that the Arcrobat didn't find any Metadata.
With jhove i can see the metadata. But the people will often use the
Acrobat Preflight funktion.

Martin has sent me a PDF off-line and I know now what the problem is.
The XMP metadata generated in the PDF does not contain any namespace
declarations. That's why Acrobat complains about the metadata. Martin,
what the environment you're using?

i have a Problem with the preflight funktion in Adope Acrobat.
I create a PDF/A with Apache fop-0.02beta with the option -pdfa1b.
I embedded all fonst and the creation ends without an error.
But then i test the PDF file with the Preflight funktion from Acrobat 7.0.8
i receive this
PDF/A support in 0.92beta is somewhat incomplete. Adobe Acrobat is
definitely buggy. I've filed three bugs with Adobe. Not that I got any
reply on my bug reports. FOP Trunk (from Subversion) has its own problems
sorted out. It even does work-arounds to keep buggy Acrobat happy.
So please retry
