Why it is happening is probably because some of the images weren't replaced
with the new pointers.
The good thing is it's an easy fix (the following works with Frame 7.2, so I am
guessing that it will work with Frame 10).

At the book level, highlight all of the chapter files and press Enter (opens
all files). Frame will ask to reconcile the first missing graphic and
remember this as it opens the other chapters. At least this has worked for me
with Frame 7.2, as long as all of the graphics are in the same folder.

If you are running on Windows XP there is a second maker.ini file that
contains the coordinates of various dialogs. Take a look in C:\Documents

If you are using the Adobe PDF print driver, under the Properties tab
should be a selection for B/W or Color. If you aren't using the Adobe
PDF driver, check the Properties options of the driver you are using.
There should be a similar option.

Visio is a popular tool with excellent org chart capabilities. You can use
one of three options when working with Visio and Frame:
- import Visio files into Frame as an object
- convert the Visio file to PDF and import the PDF into Frame
- or convert the Visio file to PDF, save it

It may not be a relevant issue for you, but our department switched from
xrefs to variables because the less experienced Frame users kept breaking
the links and generating unresolved xrefs. We didn't think this would be
difficult problem to resolve, but a number of the writers kept
Saraah, as well as many others, offer very good FrameMaker training. For
the short-of-funds user, there is an online course at

In the Numbering properties of the captions, check whether you have two
different series labels:
For example,
S:chapnum-n+\t and F:chapnum-n+\t
Or perhaps you have n written for the problem paragraph. Perhaps it
was imported from Word or something.

Under the Document menu there is an option Enable for Commenting and
Analysis in Acrobat Reader. You need to set this option and then save
you PDF.
A note of caution, once you have set this option you can't make any
further changes to the PDF, such as Document Properties options (the
