just installed Squeezebox via ports collection on a clean installed FreeBSD 8.2
amd64, all dependencies where pulled in and the port was built without errors.
Trying to start squezeboxserver fails, I starts but dies quicky:

A few minor icons on panel 2 are missing but everuthing else is there

If you read the startxfce4 script, you will find out that it will use
$HOME/.config/xfce4/xinitrc, if that one exists. Like this:

Well, copying /usr/local/etc/xdg/xfce4/xinitrc to $HOME/.config/xfce4
didn't change anything for me.
The menus still fail to load.

I upgraded one test machine to 8.2-BETA1 some time ago. Today I tried
kernel with ATA_CAM, so disks are ada0 and ada1 instead of ad4 and ad6.
I recompiled smartmontools, but daemon will not start with DEVICESCAN in
smartd.conf stating that there is NO device in the system's table.
