A kdump from my machine at home where top is working gives the same output (only the numbers given with execve differ). Ooops, I think I should be root for ktrace'ing :-) I've made kdumps as root now on my home machine and the server. I'll look into them and will describe my findings then.

I think I made a boo boo. I deleted all the files from var/log thinking I would have clean logs. Well, I rebooted but some of the files never reapeared. I made a back up just in case. Can I expect any problems in the future? What is the best way to start off with new logs - I'm experimenting
