YMMV, but. In the past I have not had good luck with Western Digital
disks, they are 'consumer grade'. It has been my experience that Seagate
drives hold up better.

The company I work for is looking to get a number of these to be put in

In my experience, PAE is brittle and has limited driver support. I'm just
not a fan of it, I prefer 64 bit. In the long run 64 bi
. Their base install of FreeBSD is 6.3.
Another vendor you should look at is iX systems

Genstor sells lots of FreeBSD systems. The company I work for has bought
about 150 FreeBSD servers in the last 18 months fr
ood chance the disk will not spin back up.
I see this all the time at my job.
Good Luck

We have had a lot of luck with the Qlogic HBA cards. We tried the LSI but
we could not get it to work correctly. Stick with t

getting, and I'm sure this is right, is this should work like a charm.
SAN on FreeBSD does work. The only problems we have is 1) There is only 1
card that really works. We tried LSI cards but they were dodgy 2) can't
seem to get dual channel working.
I'm trying to figure out how, using cvsup, to pull a specific patch
release. For example, FreeBSD 4.11-RELEASE-p14. I've tried using the date
of a specific patch from /usr/src/UPDATING but that does not work.

There needs to be an environment variable, JAVA_HOME which points to
/usr/local/jdk1.3.1. Of course, /usr/local/jdk1.3.1/bin needs to be in the
environment variable, PATH.
Hope this helps.
