I have a question. One of the new guys went into one of our BSD servers and
changed the root environment from the default to /bin/bash and bash isn't
installed on this box, therefore we are having trouble su'ing in and even
logging in at the console. Anyone have any ideas on how to get in.

I am setting up a firewall with freebsd ver. 5.2.1. In the installation guide I am
using requires 4.0 Snap Server to be installed. was unable to find it in the packages
options for ftp download.
Is Snap Serve installed by default? If not where can I find it and how do I go about

I am new to using FreeBSD, and I am trying to use a FreeBSD box as a
firewall/router. I am trying to get the router working correctly first.
My issue is that my box will not receive an IP address from Comcast when
the dhclient starts. I commented out all of the firewall commands in my
rc.

This is a new install of 5.2 ISO from ftp.freebsd.org. (install went fine,
etc, everything is up and running well,... but)

Please help, this is really important. I was told that i could get rid

During installation , after the device probe i get a message saying that no
disk drives were ffound and the installation stops there.
Also its unable to load a few modules.
I have dedicated a formatted 1.6 gb HD for the install so theres no problem
with partitions.Any suggestions?

I have a Gigabyte GA-8KNXP Ultra motherboard with an Adaptec AIC-7902 controller built
in. When booting an installation CD without the RAID function on, the controller shows
up in dmesg and detects the 2 hard drives like normal. If I enable the Adaptec RAID

hey, i'd like to ask.. how do i make the ip's for Mirc cuz i've bEen noticing that
