Hi guys, i'm trying to start apache using: apachectl start. But apache
simply won't start, configurations files seems ok. If I try httpd -X i
receive a Segmentation fault(core dumped).
Anyone know what this could be? Nor help debugging the core output?

Syntax OK
Starting apache22.
Then, apache will run for a moment, as I can see using ps -ax | grep httpd.
But, in a question of a second or two it isn't running.

I currently have Apache 1.3.29 running and want to switch to the Apache
mod-ssl version. My question is, do I need to deinstall the standard apache
before building the mod-ssl one from the ports? And what would be the best

I'm having a problem setting up Apache. The httpd
daemon is up and running and I can access the
webserver via http://localhost. (I can see a test page

The value in the servername variable should resolv properly to an IP
address. Set the value in the /etc/hosts file OR get it resolved by your DBS
server.

apache web server on my bsd box. What i want to be able is do is to open up
a port on my firewall and forward http server requests to my bsd

You want to just use 'ports' for this - there is a ssl module port which
does all the right things. Compile and install this -before- you do PHP
I compiled apache-ssl safely on my computer. No error came up!
When I try to start it:

My problem is that when I use the command: make certificate at
the /usr/ports/www/apache13-ssl directory the following error comes

I have Apache 1.3 running on my system. It's running fine and has been for
several years.
I find that I'm in need of also have a secure https session (as well as my
regular web sites).
So I set out to learn about Apache
I had some trouble getting Apache2 to run properly on my machine, so I uninstalled the
port and started over with a new port installation.
It seemed to work fine "out of the box" with very few changes to the httpd.conf file.
I'm able to 'lynx http://localhost' with no trouble, and last I checked
I presently have Apache 1.3 installed (from Ports)...
What I need is Apache 1.3 Frontpage extentions AND ssl...
So how would I go about installing both from ports without
overwriting the current settings?
There must be an easy way to do this...

I am running apache 2.2.4 on FreeBSD 6.1. This is a recent upgrade from ports
(in the past few days or so). Since then I cant browse to localhost. Just get
an unable to connect message. The server seems to start with:
$sudo apachectl start
If I try it again I see its already running.

from source? I did a search on Google and read that you could just stop
the service and then delete the apache source tree. Is this true?

Back in the day...4.9-RELEASE you were able to install
apache+mod_ssl and mod_php4. Now 5.4-RELEASE requires
apache as a dependency to install mod_php4 and fails
with apache+mod_ssl already installed. Don't know if
this is a problem just I am having. I would like to

upgrade. is there a way i can do it without uninstalling everything
and reinstalling it all

I have Apache 2 http server installed in my computer.
I would like to install p5-Apache-ASP, but it wants
to install mod_perl and it fails to compile it.
Apache2 uses mod_perl2 and I cannot find a way of
specifying that I have Apache2 to the Makefile.
Does anybody have installed p5-Apache-ASP
