that case it's simple the other software
(like OpenOffice/Word/etc.) just can do that.
For me TeX is the best for formating some documents. All my documents is in
TeX (well in fact in LaTeX) or in ... ascii.

with a HP Proliant DL 380 G5 I've got exact same problem.

2 processeurs.
Nothing run on this server (charge is near zero).
The disk I/O is running very fast.
The make buildworld is fast too (I don't have measure but it's «fast» ;-))

But they are one directory I don't want update. (it's because i'm using a

volume using the ServeRaid-Bios (not the server BIOS).

The ZFS is very good, easy to manage, very fast.
They're two default IMHO :
Eat lot of Ram
cannot synchronize two zpool automaticaly like HammerFS

upgrade to 9.1. If I lost the data I'm close to dead person. If I thinking

(Both are same Dell poweredge).
And the ZFS+12 disk sata goes much faster than CentOS+H700+ext4 almost
everywhere. Only
for small file AND small record size the ZFS is slower than CentOS.
The server
cannot ping the server. When I quote « heavy » it's
because the traffic is ~ 40 Mbit/s.
I'm sure of the relation between client acces through NFS and lost ping.
Anyone have a idea.

Anyone known the quality of mount_nfs4 ? And where can I find a nfsv4
server ? Of course I prefer on my FreeBSD box ;-))

I've similary message on [EMAIL PROTECTED] but I don't know if
that's problem is on the ports or on the new release. Or maybe it's not a
problem but only a new kind of configuration.

et with a scsi card (raid or not) it's the scsi controller to
inform the OS what disk you have. It's not the OS. Then if you OS (like
FreeBSD) have right driver to use your SmartArray there no problem.
But don't forget if you use FreeBSD under ML serie (like me) you can not

Hi all
On a FreeBSD 5.4-p8 I've a problem to install pear ports.
When I try to do that
cd /usr/ports/devel/pear
make install
the ports install stop with core dump (php.core).
Anyone have this problem ?
(All ports is up2date).
