Call me crazy, but we get this information from our RAS boxes themselves,
using the OID's provided by the vendors. We monitor Ascend 4000, 3COM TC, and
Ascend/Lucent MaxTNT boxes in this manner. Do some RAS vendors not put this
info out there?

It allows you to issue one command that produces a number
I use radwho -r | grep (server IP) | wc -l...
This number is filed and I have the script run every five minutes.
MRTG is the way to go...
