Ok, I solved it.
On Windows instead of using "-u" you can just leave the authentication to the
OS, using cmdkey if needed.
Here's the working command line:
wfreerdp --ignore-certificate --no-nego --pcb -t 2179

None of my business, I'm just an end user but my two cents on this:
freerdp stable is supported in debian stable (squeeze).
freerdp latest unstable (as in "under development") code is supported by debian
sid and wheezy, the upcoming stable.
Seems very consistent and acceptable to me.
