I had in mind some complex rotation, zoom-in zoom-out,
I see. We can export to STL format if that helps (mris_convert with an
output file extension .stl). The same for VTK, although no idea if this

yes. In general you're better of trying to get closer to isotropic voxels
than high in-plane at the cost of thick slices.
