Might be possible, but not that practical if you have lots of subtitles

look for a program called alien.
I tried to force the CD drive already without much success.
in local_config.py
ROM_DRIVES = [ ('/mnt/dvd', '/dev/hdd', 'DVD-paf') ]
The behavior is the same.
By the way, if you're interested i could give you an account on the machine

I don't have mame, I think that line says that you need to delete
the cached rom list and regenerate it. Someone else would have to tell you
how.

It tracks the main freevo version, since the files come from there.
I don't think it's been changed in a while though.

Specificly for Freevo? No. For xmame in general check their site.
Can you send the traceback from when Freevo crashes?

I'm afraid my n00bness is showing through. :(
Which directory is that in? I see a directory called /boot - and inside it
there's a file called freevo, but no file called freevo-boot.
I assume you need the correct version number of freevo-boot for each freevo
version, or will any version work?
Q
That was specificaly for freevo of course.
For the crash it was because xmame-gl could not find libGL.so. I works
with standard xmame (i had to remove -modenumber 6 it's not suported ).
