I noticed in latest freevo release that audio does not work first time when
playing movie. When I exit from first movie and play another movie, then
audio starts working.

I want to have my linux system automount digital camera or memory card
reader once plugged in. I've been reading some stuff on it, but still
haven't gotten it working.
Have any of you got it working?

hello,
now, it works fine. i had installed an lirc-rpm package that caused some
trouble (because of my installed tv-card). i've seen that after my mail in
the lircd-log.
i removed that rpm-package and re-installed the original lirc-driver. now it
works quite well..
thanks,

Hi,
That is a known bug, but I have no time to fix it now.

Hi all,
I am still having a couple of problems getting version
1.4rc1 going.
I had an earlier problem using the LOCAL_CONF_VERSION
number. Here is what I have in /etc/freevo/freevo.conf
dparanoia = ./runtime/apps/cdparanoia
chanlist = us-cable
display = x11
geometry = 800x600
jpegtran = ./run
Xine pops up windows that says:
"The source can't be read. Maybe you don't have enough rights for this, or
source doesn't containt data (e.g not disc in drive) /dev/dvd"
I am logged into to system as root. Redhat has /dev/cdrom in fstab. Maybe
freevo is trying to automount to /dev/dvd??

The marvel driver is for MJPEG hw compression on the matrox marvel G400tv it is not
used for tv out.
Since you can view your desktop on the tv it sounds as if the basic setup is okay.
what do you have in your freevo conf? Is freevo showing on your monitor?

What do
I am trying to play a DVD in Freevo with Redhat 9. I haven't changed
anything in local_config file for it. When I put in DVD, it loads image icon
for dvd, but when I go to play, I get xine error message that I may not have
rights for it or something like that. I thought maybe my fstab file was bad

Before Freevo had multiple-encoder support (I'm guessing circa 1.3.4)
the record_daemon added that option itself, but it should be in the
local_conf example.

There are different pieces of software (like Debian has ifup/ifdown)
and /etc/ppp which can be used to go online when necessary and
disconnect when done. It varies by distro, but it isn't something that
necesarily has to go into Freevo.

I had these earlier, but they went away, and are now apparently back.
These happen sometimes when I go to record a show, or view the list of

Hi,
with default settings freevo uses mplayer to watch tv, check your
local_conf.py file. And deactivate the tvtime plugin so it will use mplayer.
If you see this in your config file :
plugin.remove('tv.mplayer')
plugin.activate('tv.tvtime')
then remove this 2 lines

Hey all, sorry for the really newbie question here, but it seems that
Freevo is using TVTime to do most of the TV functions?
The reason I ask is I just spent about two weeks trying to get RedHat 9
to play nice with Freevo, and I am finally at a point where it works
fine, except after selecting

Cardwise, it's been beautiful for me under mandrake. Simple:
# modprobe bttv
# modprobe btaudio
# modprobe tvmixer
And it's all set, per the dmesg info:
bttv: driver version 0.7.100 loaded
