For my freevo box, I have a pundit-r. It has an ati 9100 igp radeon
graphic card. To make the tv-out work, I use the propietary drivers from
ati. The version I have is 8.8.25, which is packaged in ubuntu. I
haven't managed to make work any other version. And yes, I've tried
hexedit too.
Try using the latest version of the ati drivers (8.10.19) and the latest
mplayer version (pre6a?).It could be a driver problem, or faulty hw. Does the
card get hot when
this happens? Have you tried another disp mode in mplayer? (I used VESA
with my old ati card, and the util atitvout to activate

This does unfortunatly not work for my crappy Pinnacle PCTV.. (Supported
cards are in the kernel docs for the bttv driver ) so I use a secondary

I gave it a shot but nothing changed. Seems as we have to solve it

For those who het the MENU_CRASH when trying to browse MAME games add
result = int(84) at line ~276 right before return result in
/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/freevo/games/mame_cache.py
The fuction that is failing is the MAME version check, but as log as
result 83 (mame version 0.83)
