For DVB-T ( I have a USB Nova T Stick from hauppauge) I have the
following VCR command:
VCR_CMD = CONF.mplayer + ' -dumpstream -dumpfile %(filename)s
"dvb://%(channel)s"'
TV_RECORDFILE_SUFFIX = '.ts'
It just uses mplayer to dump the stream straight to disk. This works
very well and takes only

I would dearly love to be able to 'set' the aspect ratio of a file
from within freevo. I know I can create an fxd manually to do this,
but this lowers my WAF. hehe.
What kind of 'file'? I suppose you mean movies; I've added these events to
localconf.py to change aspect ratio of movies in mpla
Hello,
(Thanks for replies from my precedent post, I am working on it now...)
I use freevo 1.7.1 (debian multimedia packages) under debian 4.0 :)
I have another question about the Encoding server, it seems that it
change the resolution of encoded file even if I don't want that.
Some log :
Hello,
I use a DVB-T PCI card.
Here is what I have in my local_conf.py:
VCR_CMD = CONF.mplayer + ' -dumpstream -dumpfile %(filename)s
"dvb://%(channel)s"'
TV_RECORDFILE_SUFFIX = '.ts'
VIDEO_GROUPS[0].group_type = 'dvb'
and of course TV channels:
TV_CHANNELS = [

I do have that section set in freevo.conf (geometry = 1920x1080) but I
found that mplayer still had a problem with the aspect ratio, which
was not resolved until I changed the monitoraspect=16:9 setting in
.mplayer/config
Out of curiosity, what was the geometry set to before you changed it?

What connection do you use between your computer and your TV? I use a
DVI->HDMI cable, and run the output at 1920x1080 which is the native
resolution of my TV. I tried out the new skin for the brief period of
time that I was running 1.7.1, and it looked very nice, but did not
affect the way that

Hello,
TV_RECORD_DIR is different from the other media dir settings.
It must not be a tuple, but has to be a path.
Change your settings to:
TV_RECORD_DIR = '/home/dreamux/Grabaciones/'

I'm using ivtv and get black bars at the side of recordings - I've read this is

discovered a couple of bugs today that would prevent it from working, but I've

Have checked for XFree86-VidModeExtension on the xserver with the
comman xdpyinfo?
Also are you trying a fullscreen resolution that is not enable in your
xorg.conf?
