I have some MP3 files that I bought from CDON.COM.
They do not work with standard freevo arguments to mplayer.
In winamp they are played all right and identified as
MPEG 1.0 layer 3
192kbit, 4013 frames
44100Hz Joint Stereo
However, with the argument "-demuxer 17" these files will not play.

Has the support for Debian been dropped? 1.5.3 was announced three weeks ago
and there have been no Debian packages available yet. It is no problem to
install manually, but the Debian packages have been a very convenient way to
keep the system up-to-date.

Hello,
I decided to switch from mga_vid to dfbmga and definitely the picture
quality is better. However, mplayer seems to be a lousy DVD player. It can
play only about half of DVDs I tested. In addition, subtitles worked wrong
in about half of those that could be played (wrong language)and if I

Greetings,
In addition to these great questions, I have another question concerning DVB-T.
In Finland, we have so-called DVB subtitling in operation. This means that
subtitles come in a separate substream.
Is it possible to make this work with Freevo?
I know it is possible with VDR using certain
I tried DirectFB/SDL and did not find any major difference in quality nor
performance. Getting DirectFB to work was a major effort. It took me one
weekend.
mga_vid seems to be good enough for me.

The patches for SDL-1.2.7 are definitely needed. SDL 1.2.6 with the patches
does not compile with the latest version of ffmpeg, neither does it compile
with the latest version of ALSA.
I am now using a DXR3 card as a hardware AC3 pass-through device. I cannot
use it as a video output device becau
Hello all!
What I would like to see is the stream metadata display for web radios (such
as in Winamp & others). It would show the stream name, current artist and
title. I do not know if it is possible to implement with Mplayer, but at
least it works with mp3 streams in Winamp and XMMS.

It seems that freevo does not handle flac files well.
When I try to browse some flac files I get the following error:

I have uploaded a new and updated set of files that I generated from a
Streamtuner cache file. The files include the definition of thousands of
radio streams. You can find these files from the plugins page.

I have had similar kind of symptoms with 1.5.0. I have a directory whose
name is not shown correctly. Instead of its own name, one of its
subdirectory names is shown.
In addition, some of my audio directories are not opening any more. They
used to open with 1.5.pre versions. Here is a traceback o
Just put any of the fxd files into any of your music directories.
They work with mplayer and 1.5RC4 (at least).

Hello!
I have a Matrox G400 attached to my PAL TV. I have been trying to get a good

Hello!
I looked at current processes in my system and found out that freevo creates
six processes + python freevo. Is that right behaviour? The processes are
shown as ./runtime/dll/freevo_loader

/usr/local/freevo-1.5-pre1/src/main.py.

Hi!
Freevo is a great piece of software! However, I have two annoying problems
with the cdbackup plugin:
1. The track numbering goes to an ID2V2 tag in the form of "track/number of
tracks" (e.g. 01/08). This causes wrong ordering of playlists in the album
directory. The tracks will be alphabetica
