Hi,
I normally do parental control with a .password file. However, I have
one dir that is now set up entirely through a custom fxd file.
(VIDEO_ITEMS = ['foo','/path/to/foo.fxd'])
Can I put a password in the fxd file instead? There's nothing about it
in Docs/fxd_files.txt
Cheers,
Simon

Hi,
I have a (fairly complex) fxd file that contains several different
types, in different 'container' tags. I want to have multiple types
(music and movies, for example) within the same container.
Example:

Hello,
Having just got dvbstreamer/live pause working (thanks authors, it's
awesome) I'd like to improve things a little...
I actually have 2 dedicated freevo boxes. One for the living room, one
for the bedroom. The living room box has my DVB tuner card in. Is it
possible using dvbstreamer

Hello,
Been trying to play witht the live pause plugin. I find the
installation procedure isn't very well documented, so I'm sure I've
done something wrong.
Here's what I did:
* Installed dvbstreamer 0.8 ('emerge dvbstreamer')
* ran 'setupdvbstreamer -t /etc/freevo/channels.conf' (which is w

Hi,
Maybe something to do with change of year (?) ... It was working fine
yesterday.
My TV listings have gone. All channels say "This channel has no data loaded".
On the homepage of my freevo web server, it says: "Notice: Your
listings expire in 0
hours."
I have cron run 'freevo tv_grab' nigh

Hello,
I have a bash script that I'm calling as a VCR_CMD, like so:
VCR_CMD = '/home/freevo/commands/recorder "%(filename)s" "dvb://%(channel)s"'
My bash script says:
# some stuff ...
/usr/bin/mplayer -dumpstream -dumpfile "$FN" "$CHAN"
# and some other stuff
When recording ends, I expect my ba

I tried using the webradio.fxd supplied with freevo, to add web radio
support to my installation. However, most of the stations don't appear to
work. They usually just appear for a second when I select them, and then
I'm returned to the menu. No errors in freevo 'main' log. I did get *one*

The imdb helper in 1.7.1 appears to have a bug that stops it from working
properly...
It seems two parameters were added to setImdbId in src/util/fxdimdb.py,
"season" and "episode". This breaks the imdb helper (when run from the
commandline, at least), which still tries to call the function with o
Hi,
I read in the changelog that I can now use an encoding server to recode my
recorded TV shows into a smaller format. My computer isn't really fast
enough to transcode to xvid on the fly... But, I can't figure out how to
do it. Am I supposed to be able to select a 'recode' option on my recorded
I recently upgraded my dedicated freevo box to freevo 1.7.1, from 1.7_rc1.
I also completely removed my freevo cache, tmp, and .freevo dirs, in order
to try and nail a problem I had with the recordserver. (I eventually
solved it by doing an 'emerge -e world' on my gentoo box, *sigh*)
Since the upd
I just upgraded from 1.5.x (can't remember which x) to 1.7_rc2.
Now, when I start the recordserver the tv module hangs.

I'm having trouble with the recordserver on my dedicated freevo box.
I just upgraded from 1.5.x (can't remember which x) to 1.7_rc2.
Now, when I start the recordserver the tv module hangs. (Can't navigate
the menus. Also, tv_grab hangs when trying to schedule recording of
favourites) When the rec
Using freevo's TV Guide, if I decide to watch TV while something is
recording, the recording is killed at the point I activate the TV. Is it
possible to get freevo to prevent me from doing this? (i.e. have Freevo
refuse to allow watching of TV while recording is taking place?)
Thanks,
Simon
