I hope someone can provide insight into my problem.
To put it simply, I am having trouble getting Jaguar to recognize my
modem. I am running a PowerBook G3 250 with 256 MB memory. It tells me
my modem cannot detect a carrier signal. I have been told that I need
an updated modem script, but I
Hi all, does a builtin zip drive in a G4 sawtooth still work with OSX

I have the same problem on G3 BW tower I was hoping that Jag would
fix it, I have a shedload of different modem scripts but they have
not solved the problem. I am going to borrow an external modem to see
if it cold be hardware.
My Wallstreet runs smooth as silk.

Mine works in a BW G3 that I upgraded to a G4 processor, with 10.2.1 right

Dear listers,
I'm trying to install OS 9.1 X into external IBM 80gb 7200rpm firewire but it keeps
asking me to select classic (after clicking on installation icon). How can I do the
installation in Jaguar environment? (pismo 400mhz,10.2,320mb,6gb) It currently
connects with firewire CDR-W
Okay, here's the deal... for some reason my Pismo has
decided that it doesn't want to boot into OS 9.2.2 any
more. The machine is configured thusly:
400MhZ G3
384 MB RAM (256 lower + 128 upper)
25GB IBM HD, partitioned into 4 partitions.
OS X.2 installed on one partition.
9.2.2 on another.

Hi, All.
Undergoing a frantic effort to get my Cardbus Firewire2Go card to
work with my Lombard Powerbook. In both OS 9.2 and X.2 my card is
'seen' by Apple System Profiler, but I can't mount my LaCie
pocketdrive through it, even though it's independently powered. The
same drive works fine
Occasionally on my Wallstreet the cards would eject while the mechanism
would remain cocked as it were. The solution was to use a paperclip in
the eject hole when the slot was empty. This allows the card to be inserted.

Has anyone had any experience opening up the VST expansion bay hard
drives (pismo/lombard version in particular) and installing a larger
hard drive?
Any info is appreciated.

I purchased an iBook for a sweet deal. Besides the RAM [did that
already] what can be upgraded?

You should be fine. I started using Mac OS X 10.1.x initially on a
Wallstreet at 300 MHz and I was happy. Jaguar (10.2) is way faster than 10.1
so you should be OK.
