First weirdnesses

okay, all day today, the battery icon on my menu bar has been followed by (Calculating...) and some but not all supposedly black text is actually showing up sort of multicolored on the screen. I used Software Update yesterday and had it install what was recommended--did I open Pandora's Box?

Now this is something that is pretty cool. Went to the website and read some and watched the videos, very impressive. Not sure on how the cost of it compares to more conventional metals but I agree that this could be the next step for Apple to once again get out of the starting block ahead

Hello All, I'm using my 17" PB 3/4 of the time as a desktop machine connected to the power adaptor. I read somewhere that it would prolong battery life if you removed the battery when connected to the adaptor. The battery would not be continuously charged. Any advice? TIA, greetings, Andre --
