If they told you that you had installed it on the wrong partition, as if you had the 8GB limit on OS X, then they aren't the techs to have repair this. I had a Lombard with nearly the exact specs as yours, and I can definitely say it doesn't have the 8GB limit problem. Not to mention that OS X

I'm having a problem with NewerTech's PowerBook G3 WallStreet Li-Ion Battery (NWTBAPLLIWS) from OWC. Works great for about 2 weeks (charges, lasts about 3 hours (according to time remaining), takes a charge fine when plugged in (e.g., goes to 100%)) then won't take a charge. I'm on my 2nd one
