Tiger in Lombard (again...)

I just thought of something... What if one stuick the Lombard drive on one of the IDE buses in a QuickSilver and installed Tiger. Obviously using one of those 3.5 IDE - 2.5 IDE converters... Would the QuickSilver be too different and affect the software installed or is OS X truly a one system
