I think it can get around the 8gig limit if you have a second drive
thats less than 8gigs.
You designate this smaller drive as a helper and all the limiting
files are stored there.
The majority of the System is located on your larger drive.
go to the xPostFacto site for details.

Is pretty easy. Depends a bit on your OS.
Running Tiger you can fax via the print menu. Take any document on
your screen, tell it to print and then in the print dialog box you'll
see a PDF button at the bottom. Click on that to open your PDF
Steps I'd try (based on things I've read in other places)
Start another Mac on your network in target disk mode (if possible).
Plug that mac into your WS via firewire
Mount the DVD in a DVD drive on that target disk booted Mac
Install

Just tried installing OS 10.2 on my old WSII. It boots, restarts, then boots
off the CD. When the CD pops up the little broken circle at the bottom just
spins, like a broken beach ball. It never stops spinning either, os it never
locks up, but I can't hear the CD-ROM doing anything. Making it's

How long have you let it run? I did experience this a few times. It seems
that the CDs are not always burned optimally resulting in a lot of whirling
and shuffling back and forth as if the drive has to go to various places on
the CD to find what it's looking for. I remember taking 30 to 40

Does anyone have a copy of 10.3 that's gathering dust or a burned copy
that I could get for cheap? Trying to finally upgrade the OS of my
Lombard now that it's 512 and 40G HD.

Not to disparage MacMall, and although I've never used them, I have
read some bad things about their service on other forums. I believe
there is a web site devoted to spreading that knowledge and belief.
Just a word of caution, although I'm sure you'll hear good reviews of
their website.
I have gotten past the spinning OS X screen and now I am at the Processing
Essential System Software screen. It's said there are 13 minutes left for the
past half hour. Mouse still moves, I cna even click on stuff. Like show log,

Mike,
I don't even remeber HOW LONG it took to install OS X
on my Bondi iMac (with a Rev C 333 MHz card installed,
256MB RAM, new 60 GB 7200 rpm HD), but I got a LOT of
stuff done while waiting. :-)

What? But I made this one myself ... :( Maybe painting it orange will help. New

It's slow, like Nasa reaching Mars, but it runs well. I ended up installing
with no extra apps and no options, just the needed files I couldn't uncheck.
Worked like a charm. Even got it to 10.2.8. Now to find an old copy of iLife
that may run on this.
