It's slow, like Nasa reaching Mars, but it runs well. I ended up
installing with no extra apps and no options, just the needed files I
couldn't uncheck. Worked like a charm. Even got it to 10.2.8. Now to find
an old copy of iLife that may run on this.
10.3.9 works OK on several of my WSs,
I'm having trouble getting Mail to send messages.
I believe (but don't know) that it's because my ISP
(Earthlink) made changes to the outgoing mail server settings.
Evidently they made these changes a month ago, but I just started
having trouble in the past day. I
I've had some smtp password problems recently, but not with
Earthlink. I found that turning off my local router and restarting it
so that it had a different DHCP ID address solved the problem.
Running Tiger with Comcast and a wireless Buffalo AirStation router.

I did replace my son's iBook hard disk this week. Upon disassembling it, I
found a rectangular magnet that was obviously out of place.
After putting back the iBook, I noticed that the iBook would not go to sleep
when closing the lid nor would it awake when opening the lid.

If this is a g4 ibook the magnet goes on the right hand side of the
ibook near the edge close to the slot loading drive, it was glued
there originally but mine came off too when i pulled my book apart,
there is a mold line in the plastic that shows you where it was, you
need to put it back
