Those iSkin keyboard covers are really wonderful things. Used one for years on my Apple //e, and now I have one on my G4 PB. I got mine off of ebay for under $15 shipped (from Asia!). Fits well, nice feel, and an extra layer of protection. I've never understood why more people don't use them.

Per others, a mis-seated video cable ~appears~ to be the problem, but would that cause the system to lose power? I don't know the answer to that, but am just asking. My experience as a ham operator (for about 25 years now) leads me to opine that it sounds like something is shorting to ground
