There are shareware and freeware apps. for the Mac where you can
transfer songs from the iPod to your computer. I'm sure there are
probably similar apps. that will work with a PC. Check the iPod lounge:

I'm looking in to buying an external monitor to use w/my dual USB
iBook. I bought the 12 iBook for portability and now find I'm using it
more like a desktop computer. I'm not ready to buy a new iBook w/larger
screen, so am wanting to hook up an external monitor for when I use the
whole setup
