I can get to the point where it is loading the final stages of disc 1
and my screen goes buggy and does not allow me to continue, either the
screen will wash out or will have funky color changes. I have tried to
use xpostfacto and get even less far (barely goes into the splash
install screen

Sometimes when the screen is about to go to the spinning disc under

apple, the screen gets a bunch of horizontal lines and everything
grinds
to halt.
This happens to me sometimes too. I just restart, and everything is
fine. Never happens when the computer wakes from sleep though.

Jeff, same problems in the past here. I zap the PRAM and that helps.
