I have been playing around with upgrading to X.4 on my
Wallstreets, using the new XPostFacto4. But I have run
into a snag.
I suspect that it is hopeless, but just wanted to
check.
Using the new XPostFacto 4, I can load the software
and recognize the DVD, even in OS 10.2. But when it
tries to

Hello everyone. This will be my first post on the list, as I just acquired
a used wallstreet II 300MHz. My first G3 'book.
I have need for expansion bay devices and advice.
First: My floppy drive does not spin. When I insert a disk, nothing
happens. The computer even once said that it didn't
will the dvd player run in classic mode??? i am asking this becouse i
just orderd a dvd player and decoder for my wallstreet...and my
wallstreat will not boot into mac os9!! ak
anyone know either how to get it to boot into nine or if you have tried
to do it in classic please tell me!!
ps
Well, you will need a generic 9.x install CD... ones that come with a
specific machine (other than your Wallstreet) will not boot. The DVD player
will not run from Classic, because it needs access to the hardware, which
Classic does not provide.
You will need a generic 9.x install CD and install
well it is the os 9 boot cd that came when i orderd os 10and since
i never had to specify a computer im guessing its as generic as you

how would i check my hard drive??? could it be a firmware

Hmm, so
I don't have my OS X handbook with me but I remember reading about a
problem with OS 9 not being able to boot. I don't remember the
solution but I know there was one. If I can get to my book tomorrow
I'll send you the info. In the meantime, I've had several computers
with OS X not want to
I have the DVD card and the DVD/CD drive. I was able to play DVDs
fine but then I put on OSX (Jaguar) and 9.2.2. I can no longer get
my DVD to work. When I click on DVD Player it gives me Error 3.
Is anyone else using the DVD card on the Wallstreet and might be able
to tell me what to try
Sorry, but the Wallstreet and Lombard cannot play DVDs in OS X. OS X uses
the video card for DVD playback (so no PC Card decoders will work), and the
RagePro LT is woefully underpowered for that sort of thing... (And Apple has
incomplete LT drivers, as you probably know by now)

Occasionally on my Wallstreet the cards would eject while the mechanism
would remain cocked as it were. The solution was to use a paperclip in
the eject hole when the slot was empty. This allows the card to be inserted.
