Put the RAM back where it was.
It very likely doesn't like one of the modules in the 'wrong' slot.
Also do alt-apple - O - F just after the BONG and when you get a
DOS-like screen type 'reset-nvram' then hit return.
Can also type 'reset-all' instead.
Or, better still, throw the damn thing away.
Throw away an (almost) perfectly good powerbook? I'll have it if you're
throwing it out...

With that level of problems I'd go to the nearest Apple Service
provider. The repairs at that point might be a lot more than it's
worth. Sorry to hear of your blues.
